Chemical Dependency Unit
The behavioral health staff at Merit Health Central is dedicated to providing compassionate and quality care for our patients, with the goal of successful outcomes in our medical detox and behavioral health services.
Merit Health Central's chemical dependency unit provides patient centered treatment integrated by a team of specialists which includes addiction medicine providers, licensed mental health professionals, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and activity therapists.
The essential detoxification process can be expected to take 5-7 days during which time the patient will be provided medication assisted treatment (MAT). Each day of the week has a specific program schedule addressing group and educational functions. Each patient is provided with a specific treatment plan that is designed to meet his or her individual needs for a successful detoxification. Upon discharge patients are typically referred to an established rehabilitation program for continued longer term treatment.
